This Monday the Eastern airline confirmed through a statement that it will reactivate its direct flights on the Asunción-Miami route from December 11. In this new stage there will be a weekly flight, but the frequency could increase if demand grows.

Jorge Fragnaud, station manager of the company, pointed out that first there will be 5 flights, from December 11 to 21, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and then the Saturday flights will be maintained “until further notice.”

“As of December 11, the Miami-Asunción-Miami route will be maintained, with a weekly flight to begin,” the official told ABC Paraguay.

As explained, the number of flights will increase, according to demand. Fragnaud indicated that they will continue to use a Boeing 767-300 for this route, with a capacity for 251 passengers. “Tickets are already being sold in travel agencies,” he said.

Recall that Eastern suspended its direct flights on the Asunción-Miami route last August and as reported at the time, this would only be until this November. Although the company did not offer statements at that time about the reasons for this interruption, it was said that the reason would be the end of the high tourism season in the Northern Hemisphere, with the fall in “vaccination tourism.”

Similarly, some Argentine media claim that the regional directors of the US airline Eastern Airlines met in Miami with Argentine officials to jointly analyze various alternatives to disembark with regular operations in that country. They evaluate various alternatives, such as a triangular flight from Miami to the cities of Tucumán and Iguazú or a direct route to Buenos Aires, both proposed by Inprotur based on data from the market.
