Miami-Dade police authorities and traffic homicide detectives released more details about a traffic accident that killed two people in the Hammocks district.

According to the statements of the officers, the incident occurred around 11:40 a.m., Thursday, the officers noticed that the driver of a gray Honda sedan was speeding in the area of ​​Southwest 177th Avenue and Southwest 136th Street.

Officers say they tried to give the Honda driver the voice to stop. As the car approached the intersection of Southwest 88th Street and Southwest 177th Avenue, the driver turned right and collided with a white Dodge pickup that was stopped at a stoplight. The truck driver was not injured, according to police.

The Honda driver then continued east on Southwest 88th Street at high speed, according to investigators. As the car approached the area of ​​168th Avenue and Southwest 88th Street, the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a tree, Local 10 reported .

The driver of the car and the passenger of the Honda were killed in an accident, according to investigation reports.
