Last Wednesday, a group of Miami-Dade County jurors recommended that residential buildings should have an inspection for recertification, particularly after 10 to 15 years of building construction.

Recalling that the legislation suggests that this recertification be performed every 40 years. The jury also suggested that stricter regulations be applied to associations.

Following the June 2020 collapse of the Champlain Towers South residential development that left hundreds dead in Surfside, the jury has issued such recommendations for possible building improvements.
