Ocean Drive’s restaurants, bars and cafes are in trouble after Miami Beach is making efforts to clean up a noisy entertainment district.
The mayor of Miami Beach, Dan Gelber, described as repeat offenders and shameful the acts of the locals that do not comply with the proper regulations.
In a letter Tuesday to commissioners, the Miami Beach city manager wrote: “The city identified 13 sidewalk cafe operators whose sidewalk cafe permits were denied for fiscal year 21/22. Two (2) sidewalk cafe operators are located on Espanola Way, two (2) sidewalk cafe operators are located on Lincoln Road, and nine (9) sidewalk cafe operators are located on Ocean Drive ”, thus reported by 7 News
The city passed an ordinance in 2019, removing tacky and misleading sidewalk cafe signs. They also established a code of conduct.
