The tension that exists in Europe due to the looming conflict between Russia and Ukraine has had its repercussions on Ukrainian citizens, who are residing in the Tampa Bay, Florida area. Reported journalist Justin Schecker, from https://www.wkrg.com/ .

“Everyone is pretty scared,” said Roman Voloshyn, one of the Ukrainians living in Florida.

Ukrainians remain vigilant

For several days now, parishioners began a vigil at the Epiphany of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church in St. Petersburg.

“Everyone is ready to stand their ground and defend the country, defend freedom, defend sovereignty and everything else.”

Members of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in St. Pete will continue to pray for peace in their country and an end to harassment by the Russian authorities.

They consider the United States as a protagonist in the conflict

Dr. Tatsiana Kulakevich, a professor of politics at the University of Eastern Europe in South Florida, indicated that the US government plays an important role in this conflict.

“The United States is a major power on the world stage and any crisis could affect the stock market and gas prices,” Kulakevich said.

The president of the United States, Joe Biden, indicated that Russia could receive heavy sanctions due to the conflict that they could arm against Ukraine.
